童年中期
童年中期 licensure at the graduate level is designed for the student who did not receive a teaching license as an undergraduate; has strong undergraduate course work in two of the following: math, 科学, social studies or English; and is available to take pedagogy, methods and field placement courses with both day and evening scheduling in order to meet the extensive requirements of the 童年中期 license.
The license is for teaching grades 4-9 in two subject areas. Students also study reading methods and children's literature along with their two chosen areas of concentration. The student with current (within the last 10 years) course work in the concentrations may have some concentration requirements waived.
Progression through the program is unique to the individual due to the various concentration combinations-one student may choose math and 科学 while another opts for 科学 and social studies. The content courses may not be offered as frequently as the foundation courses, but the sequence of course completion is important to each student's success.
入学
To begin the admission process for the 童年中期 License/Master of Education program, the candidate must meet with an academic advisor for a transcript review outlining general education requirements:

A minimum grade of C is required in all courses, 英语作文除外, 需要一个B. An overall undergraduate grade point average must be a 2.70或以上.
Next the student must apply for the MEd in Elementary Education. 被考虑录取, students must submit the following to the Office of the Graduate School:

- One official transcript sent directly from the college/university of all previous undergraduate and graduate course work.
Students may be granted up to 6 hours of advanced standing graduate credit transferred from another university, provided the course work was completed on the university's principal campus and the course work is deemed current and relevant to the elementary concentration or the core curriculum.
Special permission may be granted to register as a non-degree student, prior to acceptance in to the MEd program for no more than 6 credit hours.

The 童年中期 Licensure candidate must choose two fields of concentration from the following:

Students should complete the following five professional foundation courses before enrolling in the courses specific to 童年中期 Licensure.

During the semester(s) prior to the beginning of the program, the candidate will complete undergraduate prerequisite courses identified by their advisor.
